I’m Running for Secretary of the Marion County Democratic Party
Because this party deserves leadership that is organized, transparent, and actually does the work.
For too long, we’ve let a handful of insiders treat this party like their personal club, protecting abusers, silencing dissent, and sidelining the people actually fighting for progressive values. Meanwhile, our infrastructure is failing, our voter engagement is weak, and our records are a mess. That’s unacceptable.
The County Party Secretary is responsible for record-keeping, internal communication, and ensuring transparency.Right now, those are three things this party desperately lacks. Records are incomplete, important communications are delayed or missing, and accountability is nonexistent.
We are a party that doesn’t understand we are living in the modern era. Our database of committee chairs includes admitted criminals with no know-how to remove them, and our newsletters look like they were mimeographed and thrown on the web. We have no real social media presence, failing to engage voters where they actually are. If we want to win elections and build long-term power, we need to modernize—fast.
I’m running because we need a Secretary who can actually do the job. Someone who:
Takes accurate, timely minutes and ensures members get them.
Maintains real, up-to-date records instead of letting chaos rule.
Communicates clearly and consistently—no more confusion, no more excuses.
Ensures transparency and accountability—because party leadership should serve its members, not itself.
I’m not here for excuses or empty gestures. As a data expert, community leader, and longtime activist, I know how to build systems that work. I hold an MS in Community Psychology from Martin University and a STEM undergraduate degree from IU, with a specialization in programming and data analysis. I know how to run an effective, modern party that keeps members informed, empowers grassroots activists, and stops fumbling critical opportunities to grow our movement.
We need a party that works for the people—not just the well-connected. We need a GOTV strategy that mobilizes voters. We need a fundraising plan that doesn’t rely on the same old corporate interests. And we need leadership that stands up for our values—not just when it’s easy, but when it matters.
The future of the party belongs to those who show up, organize, and refuse to accept business as usual. That’s exactly why I’m running—and I hope you’ll stand with me.
Vote for Clif Marsiglio for Secretary. Let’s fix this party.
Awesome!
Let me know what I can do to help!
Best of Luck!!!

As a Porter county resident, you have my vote!
